Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this stroller fold and unfold with one hand? Also, does it stand up on its own after it’s folded?. Lastly, is the basket underneath sturdy?

Yes, this stroller easily folds and unfolds with one hand. It does NOT stand on its own once it is folded. The basket underneath is very sturdy considering it’s a fold-n-go stroller. I use it to carry my large diaper bag which weighs around 15 lbs.

Q: Can you take a walk outside with it? I know it’s great for malls & traveling but can you walk around the block with it until baby fits a reg stroller

Absolutely. It’s very sturdy.

Q: Do you use it for longer walks? Would it be sufficient for somebody who intends on taking long walks with the baby?

It strolls and maneuvers very easily. However, the wheels are hard so if the surface you are walking on is rough there will be an air of vibration and I don’t think the wheels would last long on a rough surface. Mine has had heavy use and has lasted through 1 baby and is now being used for a second baby so it is durable. I use a Bob stroller for our numerous long walks because the tires are like bicycle tires.

Q: Since there is no sunshade, what do you do to block out the sun? Any recommended products that fit well over the car seat?

You snap your keyfit 30 into this caddy and the keyfit 30 provides the sunshade — and it is barely a sunshade indeed. We used a lightweight blanket draped over the keyfit 30 to help get the sun out of my baby’s eyes, but, yes, this is a limitation of this system.

Q: Is this a good urban stroller? Is anybody able to compare it to the City Mini GT?

It is very lightweight, easy to fold and open up, the large basket at the bottom is very useful. The price is reasonable compared to other strollers, and it works seamlessly with the Chicco keyfit 30 car seat. We live in the middle of a city with a long set of stairs going up to our home. I can’t imagine having to carry a stroller heavier than this. It’s also easy to steer.

Q: Are there rain cover accessories you can purchase alongside this frame?

I don’t know about any Chicco brand ones, but we have one by Jolly Jumper (Jolly Jumper Weathershield for Infant Car Seat) that fits over the Chicco car seat just fine.

Q: Will the uppababy car seat work with this?

Probably not. It’s made specifically for Chicco key fit car seats

Q: Would this be the easiest stroller to travel with when flying out of the country? I need something compact and easy to store/fold up

I would say yes. And you check in the car seat too.

Q: Will a Graco keyfit car seat fit this stroller?

I think so… but please check with the Chicco company

Q: What is the package size for the Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant Car Seat $199.99 and Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stroller Frame $99.99?

The stroller box was pretty long – about 38 inches. The Car seat was about 30 inches and more of a square shape. I hope that helps.

Q: How high does the handlebar go up to? Could you measure from the floor to its highest position? I’m tall and I don’t want to hunch over. Thank you

my husband is 6.1″ he hasn’t complained of being too low. so I guess its good. Good Luck

Q: Can this be easily checked-in as luggage when traveling by plane? Any tips?

It sure can. I traveled with it and I took it straight to the plane door. When I came off it was right the waiting for me. The only thing I did was make it a part and folded it up (which I did with one hand), so to answer your question yes.

Q: Can you rock the baby to sleep in this effectively?

It depends on your baby.

I had both the keyfit caddy and keyfit 30 car seat, and my son would eventually (as in, after 30-40 minutes of continuous walking) fall asleep when pushing the baby in this setup. I think the car seat was comfortable for him, but the keyfit caddy was not a particularly smooth ride on bumpy sidewalks.

Q: Can you attach a stroller ride-along board for older siblings on this frame?

Even if it is possible to attach I do not think it would be very safe. The stroller is pretty basic and not built for that much weight.

Q: Are there bassinet options for this stroller? What do people do when they want to let their baby lie flat?

No bassinet. It’s just to carry the infant car seat.

Q: Would this work with the NUNA PIPA car seat?

No, just Chicco.

Q: Will this stroller fit in the footwell behind either the driver or passenger seat of a sedan?

I have a Toyota Sienna and I always put the stroller between the seats. It fits perfectly.

Q: Could this fit the Britax safe infant car seat?

No, only Chicco seats will work with this stroller. Look at one that has a buckle in options like the Safety 1st Clic It.

Q: Does a cover come with this or is there a cover available for purchase? Thanks.

Hello,

This does not come with a cover.

Thank you.

Q: Can you fit the car seat base into the storage basket? Thanks!

I have never tried but it doesn’t seem out of the question. The basket is quite large.

Q: Is this stroller compatible with a Maxi-Cosi car seat adapter?

Compatible with the most car seats but not really fit, the perfect match with Chico car seat they will have click sound to hold the car seat.

Q: If you have this do you also need or find a use for another stroller, specifically the one that comes with the key fit travel system?

Personally, no. Although you will likely need to get another stroller beside the caddy once your baby gets a little older and prefers to sit up/lookout instead of being in their car seat. So, that could be the Chicco stroller or another stroller (we have a jogging stroller and the caddy)

Q: Can the frame be taken apart once it’s assembled?

There is no assembly required, I wouldn’t recommend trying to take it apart

Q: How is this for tall (6″) parents?

My son’s father I’d 6 feet tall and this was his favorite stroller of all. The handlebars are adjustable.

Q: Can I use this with the Britax Infant Safe car seat? If so, what adapter do I need to get?

No, this only works with a KeyFit.

Q: Can this stroller frame be converted into a stroller for toddlers?

No.

Q: Can the car seat be put in the caddy so the child faces the parent when pushing the stroller?

Yes, that’s the only way it will fit.

Q: Out of the box, did anyone feel lumpiness when rolling it? I have smooth wood floors and this caddy is a little bumpy feeling when being pushed.

Not at all. Mine was always super smooth. One of the things I loved about it.

Q: Does the 2011 model Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat fit on this stroller frame?

Yes, that’s what we used back in 2012. Our Chicco keyfit 30 we bought in 2011 did fit perfectly on this frame.

Q: Does it work well for tall parents (6’1, 5’10)?

I’m 5′ 9″ and it works great for me! No stooping and I swear it glides. I think you would both be ok at that height.

Q: Folded Dimensions?

I bought this for my son’s baby so I don’t have it in front of me. However, it is about 2 feet high and a foot in depth when folded. It is as wide as the stroller which is probably about 15 or 16 inches. It would easily fit in a closet or back seat of a car. I have to say that it is super easy to fold and unfold. It takes about 3 seconds to fold/unfold and is pretty much just one easy button latch. You can do it all with one hand. The top handle folds down. I am pretty impressed.

Q: How big is the basket underneath – how many grocery bags can it fit?

I was able to fit 2 grocery bags. I’ve actually transported a variety of equipment in mine. The basket is generously-sized.

Q: Does this stroller frame come all together or is it difficult to assemble?

You have to put a couple of the plastic pieces on, but it’s extremely easy to do. I did it at 8 months pregnant no problem!

Q: Would an Evenflo car seat work?

I don’t think it will work with evenfliw.it is designed for keyfit as it locks seat securely into the caddy. there are other universal caddy you might want to look into.

Q: Does it fit rear-facing Evenflo car-seat?

If it’s an infant car seat than odds are good that it will fit the caddy, but I don’t know for sure. I had the corresponding Chicco Keyfit car seat.

Q: Can the keyfit 30 infant car seat be used as forward-facing on the keyfit caddy?

Don’t think so

Q: Are the cup holders flimsy?

No… But they aren’t very deep so my water bottles tend to fall out unless you’re holding a small styraphome type cup … But even though its a light stroller I have to say it holds up quite well I even grocery shop with it lol hasn’t failed me yet hope this helps.

Q: Can you put the NextFit Convertible Car Seat from Chicco in this stroller?

I can not say for sure. I think it’s designed especially for the “key fit” style since both the caddy and seat use this title. It clicks in to secure. You may be able to rest the other seat with this caddy but it may not click to lock it in place.

Q: Can this stroller fit any chico car seat and snapin?

I think so ..we have Chicco keyfit 30 and it fits perfect..snapin is pretty good…

Q: Will the peg perego viaggio fit into chicco keyfit caddy stroller?

It is configured to adapt to the Chicco Keyfit. It clicks in just as it does to the base that goes into your vehicle. I’m not sure if yours will safely lock into place. I would ask the company directly if it is comparable with other brand car seats. I kind of doubt it because the slightest variation in design could compromise safety.

Q: Do the brakes on the rear wheels get stuck when going up and downstairs? I’m only asking because I know that it’s a problem with the Graco Snugrider

Not with my experience. I just lift the whole thing up (to include the child in car seat) or down the stairs and am able to push as soon as I set it down.

Q: How long is it useful. I’m wondering if it’s worth the expense. How many months would it be possible and make sense to use this?

Well, I can’t think why it wouldn’t work as long as your kid fits in his/her car seat. However, a lot of parents start just taking the kid out of the seat once he/she can sit up if they have to go to the store or whatever. But, as easy as the setup is for this stroller, I can see myself using it until my kid outgrows her car seat. It is already a giant pain to carry her in her seat and that only gets worse as they grow. In my opinion, it’s definitely worth the expense, although I was skeptical at first too. I would just evaluate how many times you plan to lug your kid around in his/her car…

Q: How heavy is the keyfit caddy stroller frame?

I don’t know the exact weight, but I would compare it to a basic umbrella stroller….like from Walmart. It’s just a frame so it doesn’t weigh much at all!

Q: Want to check-in this while traveling. Did anyone buy a travel cover for this that fit? If yes which one? I could not find any. Thanks.

I bought this for my daughter, we didn’t buy the cover for it, and she travels w/this one all the time rather than the bigger stroller. She loves it and it wasn’t a requirement for traveling “the cover” if that is what you are asking
